ABOUT THE TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH BOARD
The Transportation Research Board (TRB) provides innovative, research-based solutions to improve transportation. TRB is a program unit of the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, a non-profit organization that provides independent, objective, and interdisciplinary solutions.
TRB manages transportation research by producing publications and online resources. It convenes experts that help to develop solutions to problems and issues facing transportation professionals. TRB also provides advice through its policy studies that tackle complex and often controversial issues of national significance.
ABOUT THE YOUNG MEMBERS COUNCIL-AVIATION
The Transportation Research Board (TRB) Aviation Group created the YMC-A as a subcommittee to the group in 2012 as a means to more directly interact with the young membership within its nine committees.

YMC-A is part of the Young Members Council (YMC), which was created in 2011 to encourage and expand young professional participation in all aspects of the TRB community. Each of the 11 groups of standing committees was offered the ability to appoint two members to this council. Involvement with YMC is open to all transportation professionals in the TRB community; however, our goal is to assist those eligible as "Young Professionals", which is 35 years of age or younger.
YMC-A's mission is to encourage and support the involvement, education, and growth of students and young professionals within the Transportation Research Board and the aviation industry as a whole.
